2019 AGRICULTURAL CLIMATE CHANGE CONFERENCE
The 2019 Agricultural Climate Change Conference attracted more than 260 agricultural climate change focused scientists, policy makers, farmers and industry representatives to Palmerston North on 8-9 April.
PGgRc General Manager Mark Aspin says the message for farmers was: “Although there are no immediate options available to reduce greenhouse gases, the past 10 years of industry and government activity has seen a tremendous lift in understanding of what's required. That investment to address the challenge of reducing agricultural greenhouse gas emissions is on-going. What is clear is that our New Zealand farming systems will need to (a) mitigate greenhouse gas emissions and (b) continue to adapt to cope with the effects of climate change into the future.”
